Events

Arena Fighting: Similar to gladiator fighting. Matches are set up through various means.

Singles: One on one matches between opponents.

Doubles: Two on two matches between opponents.

Rumbles: Free for all matches between opponents.

Majors: One person against all matches between opponents.

Matches are fought to the death on the professional level. This is mainly enforced by the authorities of Waterchase to keep unruly citizens in check and force them to feel fear for the authorities.

Brood and Victim: A game played in Harvesthome by children during Dal Niente of Nientia. The game consists of children pretending to be Rentis-Brood that hunt the Victims. Victims try to avoid being caught in the pure darkness, but have to whisper a prayer in order to make themselves easier to find. The game is played in the Autumn-grass, and therefore children cover themselves completely to avoid blade-scars. It is not punishable by law to play, but it is considered unnatural if a child should elect to be a Rentis-Brood. The game ends when Forte rises, and a bell is tolled.

Blood Harvest (n): A catastrophic event that lead to the death of many Solstice and Harvesthome natives. Multiple stories have obscured details. Common belief: Harvesters withheld Autumn grass from Trade routes and cause economic shut down in Solstice that lead to the ‘Southern cities’ sending Justices (See Justices) to quell rebellion and re-establish trade route. Name originated from the rebel Harvesters killed in their own fields. Story is also a children’s lesson to behave and not be greedy.

Cloudbreak (n): A particularly devastating thunderstorm generated from ‘Cornath charged’ clouds.

Dravus Tagg (n): A game originating from the children of Dravus, and played in few other towns and cities.  Much like capture the flag, the town is "cut" in half by a pre-determined divider line and two teams vie to steal the other teams trophy and return with it. The trophies are often food or other children, but the other team is never told where or what the trophy is. When a team member is captured they have two options, reveal something about the trophy and be freed, or be taken to the other teams jail. Although rare, if an entire team is jailed the other team has an hour to find their trophy. After that hour a jailbreak happens, and the jailed team is entirely set free. A team can only win by acquiring the other teams trophy. When placed, the trophy cannot move.

Epochs (n): Staged performances and re-enactments of religious/historical/literary work. Most Epochs are extremely long in length, and contain excruciating detail. Because of this, a social stratum has appeared around such gatherings: The wealthy enjoy the decorum, and the poor are excluded educationally.

Harvest Festival (event): Due to the lack of farming lands in Olivia, the nation is forced to live on a limited supply of stockpiled food from other nations. When the winter hits, the great cavern and port cities must be closed, making trade impossible. This forces many citizens in Olivia go hungry for months at a time. However when spring reopens the pathways, a flood of food and supplies comes pouring into the nation, delivering new life. As such the people of Olivia pay their respects to the dead by fasting for three days, and feasting for three nights.

Harvesthome Liberation: The event in which the Woodsmen raided Harvesthome and exterminated the Justice system. Harver Jun, Nor Makus, Jore Jun, Ellis Tuln, Corin Mohanas, and many more are some of the forerunners of the liberation. Full support from rebel Harvesters made the extermination possible in one Morendo-night. This marked the extermination of the Justice system in Harvesthome.

Nientia (n): Occurs once a year in cities and towns all over Orphan. Though many of the folklore details change, Nientia is considered the Night of Darkness; and is a Holiday with an unsettling stigma. Dal Niente lasts longer on this night than any other, and because of this evil connotations have been incorporated with this holiday.
In Olmeer: Nientia comes at the end of Autumn (Horizon) and is most celebrated by children playing pranks, or sneaking off during Dal Niente to test their bravery. The Holiday is based in fear, and relies heavily on the myth of Rentis-Brood: Evil spirits that carry children off to Rentis-Sphere. Adults celebrate the holiday in various forms, but the most common is one consisting of an excess of guilty pleasures.

Ball, Nientia (n): A celebration much akin to a masquerade, where the partakers of an upper-cast society dress in elaborately colored attire, and wear the mask of some animal. It is as much of a drunken revelry as it is an opportunity to flaunt one’s sense of fashion and wealth. Counter culture celebrations have sprung up in less wealthy social circles as well, where the celebration is less formal.

Reckoning (n): The name for the end of time, in which the overseeing Deity passes judgment on every living souls; the benevolent pass on to the Holy-Harvest, and the wicked perish in Rentis-sphere. The event has multiple variations, however the Reckoning is widely an Olmeer belief.

War of Succession: A war that took place in Dol’Phan 500 years ago. It was triggered by the murder of a Wiseman, the only known instance of a Wiseman being murdered. It was this war that resulted in the establishment of Fusion, and the 1st Dolphinian monarchy
